8 kinds of aluminum materials were selected into the demonstration catalog of key new materials application by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology

On December 26, 2018, in order to further complete the pilot work on the application of insurance compensation for the first batch of key new materials, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Guidance Catalog for the Demonstration of the First Batch of Key New Material Applications (2018 Version)" ), The notice states that the "Guidance Catalog 2018" will be implemented from the date of its release, and the original "Guide Catalog of the First Batch of Demonstration Guidelines for the Application of Key New Materials (2017 Edition)" (Former Ministry of Industry and Information Technology [2017] No. 168) will be abolished at the same time.

The "Guidance Catalog 2018" contains a total of 166 materials including advanced steel materials, advanced non-ferrous metal materials, advanced chemical materials, and key strategic materials. Among them, 8 kinds of aluminum products are included, including large-size 7050 series aluminum alloy pre-stretched thick plates, 7B50 large-size aluminum alloy pre-stretched plates, Sc-containing aluminum alloy processed materials, aviation support skeleton profiles, and damage-resistant aluminum alloy pre-stretched Stretched plate, high-performance aluminum alloy sheet for vehicles, Al-Si-Sc welding wire, aluminum-lithium alloy welding wire and other materials.

From the perspective of application fields, the selected aluminum products are mostly used in aviation, automobiles, high-end equipment, ships and other fields, while China's aluminum processing enterprises have relatively weak technologies in related fields. At present, the production capacity of ordinary products in China's aluminum processing industry is surplus, while the production capacity of high-tech, high-precision, high-quality products is insufficient. The fact that 90% of domestic high-performance aluminum materials depend on imports is closely related to China's current backward manufacturing technology for high-performance aluminum alloys. The release of the "Guidance Catalog 2018" has a very good role in promoting the development of high-performance aluminum materials in China, and will enhance the research and development strength and competitiveness of relevant technologies in China.

In addition, 2 types of magnesium materials, 8 types of titanium materials, and 2 types of copper materials, a variety of non-ferrous metal composite materials, high-temperature alloys and new non-ferrous metal materials are also included in the "Guidance Catalog 2018".

It is understood that due to the disconnection between the production and application of new materials, there are fewer market cultivation policies in the initial stage of new materials, which leads to difficulties in the promotion and application of new material products. The transformation and application of material achievements and the overall level of new material industry development have been improved. The reason for this phenomenon is mainly that new materials need to undergo long-term application evaluation in the early stage of the market, a large amount of manpower and material resources are required for product application, testing, evaluation, etc., capital and time costs are high, and users use new materials also have greater risks . The "Guidance Catalogue for the First Batch of Application Demonstration of Key New Materials" is a policy document launched by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in conjunction with the Ministry of Finance and the original Insurance Regulatory Commission in 2017. Arrangements, break through the initial market bottleneck in the application of new materials, activate and release the effective demand for new material products from downstream industries, and promote the combination of production and use of new materials.
