The “Implementation Plan for the Revitalization and Development of the Aluminum and Aluminum Processing Industry in Guiyang†recently announced that the aluminum and aluminum processing industry in Guiyang will achieve an industrial output value of RMB 17 billion by 2012.
According to the plan, by 2012, the aluminum and aluminum processing industry in Guiyang City will achieve an industrial output value of RMB 17 billion and an industrial added value of RMB 5.78 billion. The annual production capacity of alumina will reach 2.4 million tons, 45 tons of electrolytic aluminum, 200,000 tons of new materials based on aluminum alloys, and 320,000 tons of carbon products; the on-site conversion rate of aluminum resources will reach 100%.
The plan also made it clear that Guiyang City will promote the aluminum and aluminum processing industry to focus on Baiyun District aluminum and aluminum processing bases and Qingzhen City production base. The product structure system led by alumina and electrolytic aluminum will be changed as soon as possible, and the development of aluminum alloy materials will be increased to promote the transformation of the results on the spot. Promote the construction of aluminum alloy wheel hubs and form an annual output of 1 million sets of production capacity. Accelerate the promotion of energy saving and consumption reduction, reduce production costs, resolutely eliminate small prebake cells and increase the production capacity of non-scale economies, eliminate backward production processes and equipment.
It is reported that Guiyang City will also strengthen resource management and strictly control the total amount of resources extracted. Implement the annual plan examination and approval system for resource extraction; promote the allocation of raw ore to strong enterprises; not support the construction of new pure ore mining and primary processing projects; transform the existing ore and primary processing enterprises within a limited period of time to the development of deep processing to ensure the realization of ore mine 100 % conversion in place.
