According to data released by the International Aluminum Association (IAI) on the 26th, unprocessed aluminum inventories in Western countries declined to 12.05 million tons in July, which was 1.248 million tons as of the end of June.

IAI data shows that in July 2008, the raw aluminum inventory in Western countries was 1.591 million tons.

As of the end of July, total aluminum inventory held by aluminum smelters (excluding final products) fell to 2.279 million tons, which was revised to 2.333 million tons in June.
