EU fasteners CN code is expected to be modified in May 2012

According to the European Fastener Distributors Association (EFDA)** Bernhard Berrang, the EU fastener CN code is expected to be revised in the future. It is understood that the dumping tax is levied on the CN number of the product serial number. CN coding has been very general in the past, causing dumping cases to be unsatisfactory in terms of judgments. For this reason, EFDA considers it necessary to subdivide the CN code. In this way, if a dumping complaint is to be submitted in the future, it will only impose anti-dumping duties on a small number of exporters that have caused substantial damage to Europe or the United States, and will prevent a single person from overturning one shipper.

With regard to the modification of the CN code, the EFDA has been proposed at the German and Italian meetings and will formally be included in the agenda in Paris in May 2012. At that time, if the EFDA-affiliated branch agrees to pass the amendment, the amendments to the CN code will be submitted to the EU and the EU will include it in the amendment. The CN code is related to all tariff rules of the country and the significance of its revision process is quite significant.
