Recently, the Customs Union Committees of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have decided to pass nine anti-dumping and special protection measures.
According to the observers' analysis, Russia seems to have begun to develop a measure to re-enter Ukraine into the embrace of the customs union. In this regard, Ukraine will not give up the EU because the EU has far-reaching significance for the development of Ukraine; on the other hand, it will not completely sever relations with Russia because it will lead to political and economic relations between Ukraine and this neighboring country. The isolation is not conducive to the development of Ukraine. Therefore, the Ukrainian authorities intend to find a solution that can achieve "win-win" solutions to deal with the two giants.
If this measure is implemented, Ukrainian manufacturers will be restricted in the markets of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, while Russian industrialists will do whatever they like. In this regard, Ukrainian factories may be forced to turn their attention to the African and Asian markets.
These nine measures will involve all custom tariff areas of the customs union. One of the measures is to implement anti-dumping measures against mechanical fasteners originating in Ukraine and special protective measures for imported fasteners.
Some media claimed that this move by the Russian, Belarusian and Kazakhstan Customs Union means that Russia wants to undermine the Deep Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) with the European Union.
