Water film viscous resistance and water ring stress cause concrete to have a reliance on FRP surface

The development of a sample interface layer involves three types of interfaces: (1) The interface between glass and concrete. The bonding strength of this kind of interface is very small. The reason is: The main manifestation between concrete and FRP is an adsorption effect. In the process of the hydration reaction of concrete, the sample produced under the process of this article is made of glass fiber reinforced plastic and cement. A water film or water ring will form between them, which will cause the water film viscous resistance and water ring stress, which can cause the concrete to have a dependence on the glass fiber reinforced plastic surface. The glass fiber reinforced plastic is a material with low surface free energy and poor hydrophilicity. As a result, the bond strength between FRP and concrete is very low; (2) the interface between FRP resin and quartz stone. The interface between the FRP resin and the quartz stone is formed by the resin curing reaction, and the two will form a strong bonding interface, the bond strength is generally 30MPa-80MPa; (3) the interface between quartz stone and concrete . There are van der Waals forces, mechanical forces and friction forces between quartz stone and concrete. The load of the sample is mainly borne by the interface formed between quartz stone and concrete or the interface formed by quartz stone and glass steel, which is closely related to the particle size and shape of quartz stone and the surface treatment of quartz stone.

The size of the quartz stone particle size (2-20 mm) does not have a significant effect on the shear strength results. The amount of quartz stone particles has a large influence on the shear strength. Cured FRP as a poor hydrophilic material, poor adhesion with the pouring of concrete, and adding like quartz or similar particles or transition materials can play a role in improving the adhesion between the two materials.
