Wood Union can release new indicators for photovoltaic power plant benchmark inverter discreteness

On November 25, Mulian Energy's benchmarking service for photovoltaic power plants increased the new indicator of inverter dispersion.

Inverters are one of the core equipments of photovoltaic power plants. It is important to continue to pay attention to the conversion efficiency of inverters. However, many features related to “quality” are still difficult to improve by means of operation and maintenance. The dispersion rate of inverters is just fine. Helping the operation and maintenance personnel to further enhance the equipment efficiency from another perspective, and better continuously improve the output of the inverter through the operation and maintenance measures.

The output power dispersion rate of the inverter mainly evaluates the overall output of all inverters in the PV power plant. The smaller the discrete value is, the more concentrated the AC power curve of the inverter is, and the more consistent and stable the overall inverter operation is. According to the production operation and maintenance experience, the inverter output power dispersion rate range is divided into four levels:

(1) Discrete ratio <= 5%, indicating that the power station operates stably;

(2) 5% <discrete ratio <=10%, which is well-operated and requires attention to the further development of discrete rates;

(3) 10% <discrete ratio <= 20%, the operation is to be improved, and some equipments have insufficient output;

(4) The discrete rate >20% must be improved. There must be a considerable portion of the inverter's output.

The discreteness index of the inverter is an empirical index. There may be differences in the conditions of each power station. It cannot be said that the four levels of division can fully meet the actual conditions of all power plants. The discrete rate of the inverter is a dynamic change indicator, which has a great relationship with the operation and maintenance level of the equipment. It is an important indicator to consider the operation and maintenance capability of the power station and is an important reference for the photovoltaic power plant managers to improve the performance of the power plant.
