This series of standards was researched and formulated by the Nuclear Industry Standardization Technical Committee (referred to as the Standards and Technics Committee) under the auspices of the Nuclear Industry Standardization Institute, and was approved at the second meeting of the Standards Committee held in late October this year. This marks that the construction of the standard system for pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants in China has taken substantial steps and laid the foundation for the establishment and improvement of China's nuclear power standard system.
Relevant persons of the association revealed that among the 101 standards, four nuclear power engineering economic standards such as “Nuclear Power Plant Engineering Construction Budgeting Method†have filled the gap in this field, and “Non-destructive Testing of Nuclear Power Plant Nuclear Equipment†has unified different tests. The method and acceptance criteria, more than 30 nuclear island mechanical equipment and material series standards such as "Stainless Steel for Nuclear Power Plants in Pressurized Water Reactors" are of great significance for promoting the localization of nuclear power equipment and materials.
Qian Zhimin, deputy director of the National Energy Administration, said: "Nuclear power standardization is of great significance to promote the independent development of nuclear power in China." He also suggested that top-level design work should be done to establish a standard system for nuclear power.
Zhang Huazhu, chairman of the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association, said that nuclear power standardization is a bottleneck that has plagued China's nuclear power development for many years. The release of this standard is of great significance for the establishment of third-generation nuclear power standards. "This will enable us to repeat the embarrassing situation that the second-generation nuclear power has not had its own standards for a long time in the construction of the three-generation nuclear power."
