The Deep Sea Space Station is a mobile work platform for scientific research on the seabed, as well as resource exploration, maintenance and repair operations. Yan Kai said that at present, China's "Zhenlong" submersible can only carry three people, including dive, homework and return to the sea for only 12 hours. The deep sea space station can provide sufficient energy, has a strong life support system, can accommodate more people to carry out scientific research for a long time in the deep sea, is not affected by the sea surface and waves; can also carry work tools and work submersibles, carry out various types Undersea work.
“It has been working for at least half a month.†Yan Kai said that it depends on the level of energy storage technology.
Yan Kai said that China has explored this project for more than ten years and carried out some key technical research. Through the small test platform, the feasibility of the deep sea experimental platform was demonstrated. These preliminary work laid the foundation for the inclusion of the project in the 13th Five-Year Plan.
