Again, chloride ions can cause soil acidification and inhibit the activity of beneficial microorganisms in the soil, thus creating conditions for the invasion of pathogens.
Therefore, when reminding vegetable farmers to use fertilizer, they must first understand whether the vegetables grown are bogey of chlorine. For example, melon, watermelon, cabbage, pepper, potato, lettuce, leeks and other chlorine-free crops cannot use potassium chloride compound fertilizer, but should use sulfuric acid.
