CNC device hardware architecture (2)

2, display module (display card)

The main role of the display card:

The control command and the data for display from the CPU are received, and after being modulated with the scan signal of the CRT, a video signal required by the CRT display is generated, and a desired picture is generated on the CRT.

In the CNC device, the CRT display is a very important function. It is an important medium for human-computer communication. It provides the user with an intuitive operating environment that allows the user to quickly become familiar with the operation process.

The display card is a very versatile module. Not only is it available on the market at any time, but it also has a very rich set of support software, so no user development is required.

3, input / output module (multi-function card)

It is an interface board for data and information exchange between the CNC device and the outside world. That is, the CNC device can obtain data from the input device through the interface, and can also send data in the CNC device to the output device.

This module is also a standard PC module and generally does not require user development. If the computer motherboard is a standard motherboard, this board can be omitted.

The above three parts (computer motherboard, display card, input/output), together with the keyboard, power supply, and chassis, are actually a general-purpose microcomputer system, which is the core of the CNC device. In a sense, CNC The grade and performance of the device is determined by it. Therefore, the rational selection of computer systems in CNC devices is critical.

4, electronic disk (storage module)

The electronic disk is a storage module unique to the CNC device. It is used to store the following data and parameters in a CNC device:

System software, system inherent data; system configuration parameters (the number of feed axes that the system can control, axis definition, system gain, etc.); user's part processing program.

There are three types of memory devices used in the computer field:

Magnetic storage devices such as soft/hard disks (read/write). Optical storage devices such as: optical discs (read only). Electronic (semiconductor) memory devices such as RAM, ROM, FLASH, etc.

The first two categories are generally used as external memories, which are characterized by large capacity and low price.

Electronic storage devices are generally used as internal memories, which are more expensive than the first two categories. According to its read and write performance, it can be divided into three categories:

Read-only storage elements (ROM, PROM, EPROM, E2PROM); volatile random read and write storage elements (RAM). Non-volatile read and write storage elements.

Such devices are:

E2PROM; FLASH; RAM with backup battery.

In the CNC device, the electronic storage device is often used as the external memory, mainly considering that the working environment of the CNC device may be subject to electromagnetic interference, the reliability of the magnetic device is low, and the anti-electromagnetic interference capability of the electronic storage device is relatively stronger. .

Since the storage unit composed of electronic devices is operated in a disk-managed manner, it is called an electronic disk. The specifications of the electronic disk are: 1.44MB, 2.88MB, 6MB, 12MB, and the like.

5, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) module

PLC module: A module that implements sequential control of a CNC device.

The function of the PLC module: receiving the relays from the operation panel, the various stroke switches on the machine, the sensors, the buttons, the relays in the power cabinet, and the signals related to the spindle control and the tool magazine control. After processing, the outputs are controlled to control the operation of the corresponding devices.

There are three types of information exchanged between the CNC device and the controlled device:

Switching signal, analog signal, pulse signal.

Due to their type, level, power and anti-interference, the above signals are generally not directly connected to the CNC device, and an interface is required to transform these signals.

PLC module transformation processing its purpose:

Meet the input and output requirements of the CNC system. Signal conversion mainly includes several aspects:

Level shifting; A/D, D/A conversion; digital and pulse quantity conversion; power matching; blocking external interference signals into the computer, electrically isolating the CNC device from external signals to improve the operation of the CNC device Reliability.
