Frank Brinken, chairman of the CECIMO Economic Committee, pointed out that the significant rebound in European machine tool production was mainly attributable to the growth of overseas orders, especially orders from Asia. CECIMO includes machine tool manufacturers from 15 member states, about 1,500 companies, of which more than 80% are small and medium-sized enterprises. CECIMO's machine tool production accounts for more than 97% of the total European machine tool production, more than one-third of the world's total production. In 2010, CECIMO members' total sales revenue was about 17 billion euros and provided nearly 150,000 jobs.
