GF is a powder and can be applied thinly to the metal as a medium. The target cost of generating 1 kW of electricity is approximately 1,000 yen (approximately RMB 83), which is far lower than that of silicon batteries that previously cost about 1 million yen. Compared to conventional platy solar cells, the new product can achieve large bending and stretching, so it can be wound on chimneys, utility poles, etc., and has a wide range of settings.

According to Ikeda's introduction, the principle of solar cell power generation is that a solar cell is composed of two positive and negatively charged semiconductors. When light is absorbed by a negatively charged semiconductor surface, the negatively charged electrons in the semiconductor are repelled. The electrons move to a positively charged semiconductor surface through an externally connected circuit to generate electricity.

The electrons that accumulate on the GF maintain a delicate balance, and once they are exposed to light, their balance is broken, causing a large number of electrons to move in an instant. Therefore, the amount of electricity generated by the same amount of light will increase significantly.
