Fertilizer absorption characteristics of vegetables

(1) Vegetables like fertilizers require multi-fertilizer crops. Vegetables absorb much more nutrients than rice crops. Compared with wheat, nitrogen uptake is 40% higher, phosphorus uptake is 20% higher, potassium absorption is 1.92 times higher, and calcium absorption is 4.3 times higher. Coupled with high vegetable yields, many annual sputum requirements, more fertile soil conditions, and the impact of lack of fertilizer on vegetable yield and quality is much greater than the average field crop.

(2) Vegetable roots have strong ability to absorb fertilizer.

(3) Vegetables are hi-state nitrogen fertilizer crops and are sensitive to ammonium nitrogen fertilizer. Nitrate nitrogen fertilizers (such as sodium nitrate and calcium nitrate) absorb vegetables quickly and increase yield significantly. However, excessive application of nitrate nitrogen fertilizer, the accumulation of large amounts of nitrate in vegetables will be converted into nitrosamines after being eaten by humans, and nitrite will endanger human health. If ammonium nitrogen fertilizers (such as ammonium sulfate, ammonium bicarbonate, ammonium chloride) are applied too much, serious birth defects can occur. Therefore, in the cultivation of vegetables, attention should be paid to the proportion of nitrogen fertilizer in various states. The ammonium nitrogen fertilizer should not exceed 1/4-1/3 of the total fertilization amount of nitrogen fertilizer.

(4) Vegetable roots have high respiratory oxygen demand. The quality of soil ventilation has a great influence on the absorption function of root morphology. In vegetable cultivation, cultivating is an important field technology.

(5) Most vegetables have a large amount of potassium. Among the mineral elements absorbed by vegetables such as solanaceous fruits, melons, root vegetables, and leafy vegetables, potassium nutrition ranks first among various mineral fertilizers.

(6) Vegetables like calcium, which absorbs more boron than other crops, and also enriches various mineral elements in the soil. Therefore, urban garbage containing a lot of heavy metal salts cannot be used as fertilizer in vegetable fields.
